I started using computers in the eighties, so my first skills are programming related, no wait...oops...
I could sketch and do classic hand drawings since I was a child. Which some people will call natural talent, I improved later by taking drawing lessons and even later during my fine arts degree in university. My first professional job was as a hardware technician which was before completing my degree in Set Design. After this, my creativity improved once I started working with Flash animations and as Graphic Design assistant learnt Photoshop, Corel Draw and Pagemaker (2000). In the year 2001 had the opportunity to learn about the role of Creative Artworker as a Trainee in a big advertising agency called Contemporânea, (branch of McCann/Ericsson in Brazil). Learnt a lot about Macs, Photoshop, Quarkxpress, Illustrator, Printing Process, Artworking, Art Direction, Advertising...etc. Not to mention that I had already started to learn 3D before 2000 but with older softwares like 3DStudio for DOS, Truespace and Blender. During these two years as an artworker, I was still learning 3D techniques using Maya, Blender, Lightwave and Rhinoceros. 2003 - Moved to another city (Belo Horizonte) and started to work with 3D printing (it's very common nowadays, but 16 years ago it was more challenging as a new technology) for Fine Jewelry in a small familly factory RDC Jóias. 2004 - Moved back to Rio to conclude the university course...between 2004 and half of 2006 have worked as artwork freelancer, graphic designer, 3d modeller and teaching Rhinoceros 3D in a private course. 2006 / 2007 - Worked in a small cozy agency called Id&a Comunicação as an artworker where I could also practice other skills like 3D and start learning After Effects. After this company I worked in a studio and magazine called Voice Design (early 2008), where I had many different duties such as Digital Designer, artworker, photo retoucher (programs used: basically Adobe Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign (sometimes still Quarkxpress), Dreamweaver, Flash). The next venture was a retail and architecture company called PDV Brasil. I was also given the opportunity to be envolved in some Art Direction projects (softwares: SketchUp, 3DSmax with mentalray and vray, a little bit of AutoCAD and Zbrush). In the year 2010 - During this year I focused my training in After Effects and Cinema 4D (which I started previously in 2008), in the end of this year I just released my first demoreel. In January of 2011, I landed a job with an important brazilian Jewelrer (H.Stern). So it was time to return to Rhinoceros, and 3D printing. It was an amazing experience to witness the goldsmith and casting process. In 2015, after two years, I decided to move to London and to pursue a career in motion designer. And here I am in 2019 with four years experience freelancing as motion designer in London. Feel free to get in touch.
